I'm looking at a menu and Google Translate gave me an unintelligible translation:





L'Ancho茂ade l茅g猫re et ses Crudit茅s





Anchovies? Vegetable? I can't really tell.





Thanks!|||The translation from Google is more or less correct. anchoiade is an anchovy paste it also includes olives, olive oil and garlic so it is possible to have a "light" version of it. Crudit茅 are not just vegetables but vegatables either whole or cut that are being used as an appetiser.


I would translate the whole phrase as "vegetable appetisers with light Anchoiade". The Anchoiade being a specific sauce doesn't really have a translation. It would be used as a dipping sauce for the vegetables.
