On google translate how do you get it to show alternative translations?

I was trying to translate something from english to bengali and i was checking if it was a correct translation by translating it back but it was completely wrong. i clicked on the bengali writing on the right hand side which was highlighted yellow and it came up with a drop down list of alternative suggestion but whenever i clicked on any of them the drop down list disappeared and nothing changed. how do i get it to change to alternative translations? thanks!On google translate how do you get it to show alternative translations?
